Canes Nobiles publishes interlinear editions of ancient and medieval texts that preserve the original word order, with a contextual English translation under each word. They are meant to ignite the joy of reading these texts without the constant (or occasional!) back-and-forth to reference materials, making for a less interrupted reading experience and promoting high-volume comprehensible input. The texts follow public-domain editions, and the translations are made with the help of AI, which works with dictionary tools and reviews its own output in repeated rounds before a human review (a philologist's loving read-through). The gloss is not intended as a literary translation, but rather as an aid for students when they are stuck, obviating the mechanical look-up and enabling a more fluent reading of the text.
